Vietnam trademark and opportunity for domain names (.VN)
Beside successes in terms of business, the fair recorded the development of mordern commerce integration of Vietnamese enterprises. It is the first time advertisement of enterprises and Vietnam goods trademarks through Internet under high-level domain names of national code has been done. (.VN). This activity is implemented by US-based Hi-Tek Mutimedia Inc.that set up the representative office in Hanoi.
In the world, there are many well – known domain names including www.yahoo.com;
www.business.com; www.aol.com .. These names represent for a nation or a territory.
For example, (.UK) is representative for England, (.SG) is for Singapore, (.JP)
is for japan, (.TH) is for Thai Lan, (.CN) is for China and (.VN) is for Vietnam.

This covers 2 goals: serving for Internet consumers, subjects in every country
expressing their ownership to domain names and developing Internet healthily
closed with national security in order to better benefits of global network
system.
In Vietnam, apart from ISP company in charge of registering (.VN) local national
domain names, Hi- Tek Inc. specilizing in providing multi-comunicative products
and Internet service was recognized as the only organization in Vietnam to supply
with high-level domain names of online national code (.VN) in the world.
However, at present, only 2,000 Vietnamese domains names have been registered through Hi – Tek and 80% of which are from foreign enterprises and organizations. It is known that thousands of Vietnam enterprises and organizatioin haven’t registered domain names.
Therefore propagandization and encouragment of developing domain names of Vietnam
enterprises abroad and at home is very important in confirming Vietnam trade
mark in the world.
