Free real-time network protection from Total Network Solutions
Total Network Solutions has announced a new initiative to demonstrate the security of corporate networks, which has been developed in response to the increasing volume of viruses, worms and other content-based threats. Over a ten-day period, organisations will discover, at no cost, how many attacks and threats on the network are being made against which their current levels of protection are powerless.
This security initiative is being provided as part of Total Network Solutions’ portfolio of managed services, an area of its business that has grown by more than 300% in the last 12 months. It is offering to install a Fortinet antivirus firewall at the network edge, using its own manufacturer trained and security-vetted engineers, to demonstrate the shortcomings of existing security measures. The Fortinet system delivers real-time protection without reducing network performance.
According to Mike Harris, managing director of Total Network Solutions: “This free security perimeter evaluation and antivirus sweep will show organisations that they still have some way to go before they can be certain that they have really protected themselves against the high volume of attacks on their networks. Effective network protection will play an important role in helping organisations achieve 99.999% availability as well as being a key component of corporate business continuity strategies.”
The latest range of FortiGate network protection solutions provides integrated anti-virus firewall, VPN gateway, intrusion detection and traffic shaping capabilities at a fraction of the cost of traditional stand-alone solutions. They will form an important part of Total Network Solutions’ BS7799-2 accredited Entirety Services portfolio of network management services, which includes 24/7 network monitoring and diagnosis, asset management and consultancy.
